Typically private clubs around the country are struggling a bit, and we just wanted to be progressive about it. With all the growth Downtown and the new condos, we just want to make sure they`ve heard about us.

If you want to build the condos, that`s fine, but to get rid of a cultural asset makes no sense. Don`t destroy these buildings indirectly by leaving only the facades. It`s a hypocrisy to say you want to preserve the history to then gut the buildings.

I don`t want to see more development on the waterfront. Knock it down, put some benches in there, some grass, a little area for the sailing operation. I don`t want to see condos or some recreational center.
